Last Saturday, I had about 50 lily blooms in my front yard. Their scent was a bit of heaven. I went outside Sunday morning and they were all gone! There was no evidence that the wind took them down. Now I am "lilyless" and I have no clue as to who or what took my sweet flowers. Maybe someone needed a bouquet or something? Only heaven know!

Awww - I am sorry! I don't like thieves. :(
ReplyDeleteSomeone took some of my neighbor's pots of flowers last year.
Bizarre, and very sad for you... I think you're being very phlegmatic about it all!
ReplyDeleteHey Betty,
ReplyDeleteGosh, I wonder what happened to them? Wierd...I wonder if some animal came by and ate them...I'd hate to think the neighbors stole your pretty lilies out of your yard. You could have made your own bouquet if that was the case.

Hi Betty,
ReplyDeleteThat is just strange... The only thing I can think of, being from Iowa, is, would a deer have made a meal out of them? I know they love Hosta's. And thank you for the wonderful comment, about the fridge, the guy hasn't called me back, yet, to come and get his stuff. I did shame him, and he might be a little scared... He should be... I kind of went off on him, like an old Mother Hen, if he were my son, he wouldn't be able to sit down for a week, talking to someone like that. I just don't know what is wrong with people...
Anyway, enough, thanks for your support, and sorry about the beautiful lilies!

Hi Betty,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment... My daughter, Liz, reads all my comments, and she loves you, she says, "Betty seems like such a nice person." I think she's correct.

Hey Betty, I didn't realize that your comments, like mine have to be approved, so I kept writing and writing, and nothing... So you are going to have several merry little messages from me! I had someone try and leave messages on mine last week, and they left 6, all good, but they just couldn't figure out why they wern't coming up! To make it worse, they spoke spanish, and this old girl barely squeaked through spanish, I wrote them back, and published their comment, the one I thought they would like best.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to make sure you know how much I enjoy your post, and comments, I wasn't giving up either!

Hey Betty,
I had to smile, when I read your post... I used to ask myself these questions, every once in a while...And I have come to the conclusion, the closer you get to God, the tougher the road becomes... God doesn't want us to be like greenhouse plants, which are sheltered from rough weather, but like storm beaten oaks....It is better to weather the storm with Christ, than to sail smooth waters without Him...
I was sharing some of gut twisting drama, that seemed to be dropping me to my knees, with a lovely woman, who pops in my store... She looked at me, as tears were welling up in my eyes, and said, " oh, how blessed you are...God is working with you...He has put these trials before you, because you are worthy..." I know this to be true...Remember, it's the weights on the old Grandfather Clock, that make it run...Without them, it can't do the work it was intended for... How the knife must agonize, against the sharpening stone, before it is razor sharp...This is not the end of our journey, just the begining, if we ask to be closer to God, we will endure, and He will carry us through....He will make us sharp, and never skip a beat...
Keep a good attitude, and pray for the 'real' unfortunate ones, they need all the help they can get...and when the 'evil one', tries to take hold, hand it all over to God, He's waiting... all you have to do is ask...
Love,
Barb C.
Barb-you are so right. We are even blessed in our trials and struggles for nothing can grow with out the rains and storms. Seeds are hardened in the cold. If all we had was the sunshine, our souls would be as dry as the desert. You are a woman of so much wisdom. What a blessing you are. I hope you feel better soon and thank you for your sweet spirit. You are a blessing! Luv~Betty
